Gender politics tire me, really. Everywhere I turn I see someone getting upset or offended over something; even going as far as construing an issue when one isn't really even there. It's something that I encounter almost on a weekly basis, and it's so exhausting. It's honestly why I can't bring myself to care much that Supernatural has "too many"(?) female victims or no positive black characters, and whatever else. I just enjoy the show.

And it's not like I disagree with the issues and think they should be marginalized, but there's only so many times that one can listen to them. And being white and male also doesn't really help in becoming proactive about them, since some people have no problem automatically labeling you as the cause of all that's wrong in society. That, coupled with the fact that nobody really gives a flying fuck about men's issues, I'm left feeling so....apathetic.

I wonder if Supernatural was the opposite. If Dean and Sam were women; men were by and large the victims in each episode; and Bobby was black. Would there be an uproar in some segment of the fanbase? Or would it be cheered on as being progressive, while the stupid (oblivious) male fanbase would just be all like "Dude, Sam's bewbs are sooo big 8===D" Oh maybe some small MRA group would say something, but they'd just be called whiners, and not taken seriously because they can't form an argument without the word "God" in it. >.>
