Season 2's finale was epic. But it was the conclusion of an epic arc which spanned two seasons. I'm willing to bet that season's 4 conclusion will be pretty damn good too. It kind of fits into the whole pattern of the show. Season 5 will probably be an encompassing series finale.
That site has an interview with Kripke which drops a few hints for season 4. Things concerning Mary, Dean, etc..
Frankly I'm surprised that Bobby has managed to survive for so long. The show has always been about Dean and Sam, and every secondary character (including someone as important as John), has been done away with in some manner. Logic would follow that Bobby's time would come, but so far he's managed to stick around - not that I'm complaining; he's fucking awesome. But now every time he's in an episode, I dread that it'll be his last. :\
I really do hope they bring Ellen back. If she died in season 2, I would have liked to see it. Mysteriously writing characters out and never referring to them again is not cool.
