Yeah. No where else in Canada is as nice, that's for sure... Toronto's kinda cool, and downtown is somewhat more exciting and urban, but it's pretty blah otherwise. Too cold, too. And too hot in summer.

Heh, yeah, architechturally it's not the most exciting place in the world. Though I'd complain more about the new stuff than the older buildings - all those really ugly high rises and apartments that are popping up everywhere. But it's also true that there's some pretty uninteresting older stuff. Some nice stuff from say the 50s, modernist stuff and all, like what my grandfather did, but also a fair number of either pretty old dilapidated buildings or icky stuff from the 70s. Like at UBC. Horrid architecture there, a lot of it. Main Library and the Chem building are nice, cuz they're really old, but Buchanan Tower from the 70s? Ugly as fuck. The new Forestry building is quite nice, though. :) Anyway, some interesting and attractive newer architecture would be nice, though. It'd be nice to have downtown be sleeker and more urban, like downtown NY/Tokyo/even Toronto. As it is, there's a lot of broken down old buildings and some hideously ugly new ones.

And whoa, some of the stuff in those pictures are trippy. :) Especially those towers in Dubai. Very futuristic looking.
