I hope that was the worst of it. The winds were heading in the southwest direction so the Interior got hit pretty hard; North Van got off rather easy (although a tree went down in our courtyard), but West Van had it bad, I hear. There is supposed to be another storm this week, unfortunately.
The climate has been changing for the worse over the years, it seems. Hopefully it's a cyclic thing.
