Oh no, it was perfect... I wanted to talk about how popular film portrayed prisons, and what that says about public perceptions of the prison system, etc. The movie fit in perfectly. I pretty much talked about how it generally avoided actually dealing with issues of justice and prison, and therefore served more as escapism than anything - it presents a fairly traditional story of a man heroically overcoming great odds, taking down the bad guys, and living happily ever after. Nothing wrong with that of, course, and it made for a great movie, but it doesn't force the viewer to confront actual social issues and problems relating to prison. And, considering the popularity of the film, I think I am fairly justified in arguing that it has had some potential influence on people's views and opinions.
