Major Prison Break S4 spoiler (I know, I know, I shouldn't have looked... but I couldn't help myself.).

Meanwhile, I'm cleaning my room in N Van... boxing up stuff to go up to my new place, and cleaning out my bookcase and bedside table so they can come up. I keep being distracted by old nostalgic stuff. ^^ I dug up a box of old action figures that I'll bring up and artfully arrange on a shelf or bookcase. :) Among other things, found my 2 B5 figures - had almost forgotten that I had a Londo one (not bad looking either, all things considered - decent likeness. And he's wearing the black coat instead of the purple one from early on; yay for symbolic angst through clothing! XD). And HAH I'd forgotten that I gave my Marcus figure a little grey staff that I yoinked from my Aeris doll (which wow, I've had for ages...). I'm guessing that at least a couple of you on here will remember the days when a little decapitated head from my Cloud keychain was taped to the top of that staff. XD XD Yeah, I dunno, strange times. o.o

*looks around* *sighs* Suppose I should take down the last of my posters... Mom wants to turn this into her study, with just a sofabed for when I'm staying here, and she wants me to get rid of all my old crap. ^^; I'm loathe to take down all the printed out fanart that I have on my white cabinet, though. :( Mostly Harry Potter stuff, but also an ooold FFTactics drawing I did (yeah, I know at least a few of you remember that, too ^^;) and a really old printed out picture of Yaten from Sailormoon. Yes, I realize that I am far too attached to this stuff and need to move on with my life. ^^; But it's hard to let go of this stuff... among some other stupid things I refuse to get rid of, which again some of you may remember - a purple toy fortune telling ball, a tent peg (don't. even. ask.), and a rather large walking stick I picked up along the side of the road while walking home in grade 9. All three of these have incredibly geeky and fannish reasons why I am attached to them. Good times. :)

Now I'm trying to figure out what to do with my 'trophy' from a TKD tournament years ago; 3rd place, whoopee. It's ugly as sin, seriously. So tacky. But I don't really want to get rid of it... though it's rather large and unwieldy. -_-

Oh, and almost forgot... fun fun on Grey's Anatomy tonight, with slight spoiler )

Guess I should go to bed. Angel's over. Thoroughly enjoyed it. :) Good memories.. am going back through my archive tagging stuff for fun. Found a meme which I'm gonna do again, since it's been 2 years and I have lots of new fandoms. Gonna go for all new fandoms in this one, so it'll be no use looking through my tags for the original post. ;p

Well, I'm bored so I'm going to make an art post. :) In this post - Supernatural (mostly Wincest, be warned), Prison Break, Scrubs, and Harry Potter. Also some OpenCanvas Event files for anyone interested in watching me draw. Only have a handful - just the ones I did in OpenCanvas, which I just recently downloaded. The other ones, done in CGIllust (similar program) don't have them because the trial version of that program didn't allow me to save. :( Gotta say, they're kinda addicting to watch... make me look ridiculously good because they're so fast, lol. I don't actually draw that fast. XD Anyway, you can download a free trial here if you're interested.

Supernatural )

Prison Break )

Harry Potter )

Scrubs )

Whew, that took awhile.. now have sore back and eyes. Better go take break... then crossposting this around.

How many have your name?

Wonder what it is in Canada? Hm. Anyway, surprisingly few, really... yay me. :)

Lazy today. Sat around and played video games and wrote fanfiction (finished the SPN drabble, started a PB one that's been floating in my brain for ages and involves Michael and Alex in Panama). Went kayaking yesterday, though, which was... interesting. Fun for awhile, but tiring, and then I got seasick after we stopped for lunch so the way back was less than pleasant. Blah. Nice day, anyway, and it was good to be out I guess.

Odd to not be back at school, but rather nice. :) Hope everyone still at school is having a good start of term! I'll be in your shoes again come January...

Got some fanart to post, both SPN and PB. Will do so eventually. Been drawing quite a bit of Wincest right now, heh. *cough*

Anyway, 20 more min to the last 2 eps of PB s2, yay... and 1 week to s3!!! *cheers* I'm rather sad about certain casting spoilers I've been hearing about, but things still seem to be up in the air so I'm holding out hope yet... either way, I'm excited about the season starting. Plus, Emmys next Sunday! Woo hoo. Then the week after, almost everything else starts... looking forward to it! The latest TV guide up here had a big schedule of all the shows on each network, both American and Canadian, which is veery useful. Lets me see what's on when and what's on at diff times in Canada than in the US so I can plan out a schedule. All depends on how good the new shows are, anyway, and what the likelihood will be of them sticking around. I'm intrigued about Reaper and Pushing Daisies, and possibly Cane (Lee! and Rita!). Private Practive cause I like Addy and cuz Paul Adelstein is in it, though we'll see how it turns out. Chuck, because it looks amusing and it has Adam Baldwin in it. Watched the Fox, NBC, and CW fall previews, which was nice because I hadn't seen trailers for several of the new shows (though certain shows *coughgossipgirlcough* I've seen ten million previews for and still have no interest in. Though hearing Kristin's voice makes me sniff.

Aanyway, looking forward to the next few weeks. :) Something fun to distract me from work, yay! Also, heading up to Powell River this week for a meeting/the new logo launch, so that will be.. kinda fun, I guess. A break from the normal routine, anyway, and I'd like to see the head branch and meet all these people I'm always emailing.

On lunch in the library, as usual... bored. ^^; Got a few mini-updates from the last few days, so figured I'd post about that. Lesse... got a new cell phone! Most exciting thing that happened. XD [livejournal.com profile] bk635, as you remember from last week I've been researching all the cell phone companies... well, turns out that was a bit of a waste of time. ^^ Went into Bell yesterday to insure that my contract woulnd't be automatically renewed or anything (I don't trust them), and they totally talked me into staying with them. -_- What can I say, they gave me $250 towards a new phone! And I have 15 minutes worth of calling to use the phone to test the reception on Bowen. So far, so good - got reception at home and in the cover, so I'm happy. Much better than my old phone. And it's shiny and black. :) No camera, but I don't really need one, heh. I just like the idea. Anyway, cell #'s the same, so call away... well, not too much - I only have 200 min, I believe. Same plan as before; 200 min + call display & voice mail for $35 altogether. Not bad; voice mail is usually another $6+ and it's included here. Miiight upgrade to unlimited evenings/weekends if I'm using it enough - used to be on that, and it was ~$42 per month. So not too much more, but if I don't need it then I won't bother.

Anyway, that's about it. Went from PR to the airport to pick up Mom, then went to Grandma's place to have dinner all together. Ie. ordered in pizza. ;p Got some nice presents (love it when people go on vacation, heh) - though is it sad that my favourite is the stuffed sheep? Seriously, it's SO CUTE. Must post pictures. Decided I need more female stuffies, so she's Sara from Prison Break cause I'm on a PB kick. Am also drawing Sara right now, with the shiny new sketch set she bought me at the Derwent pencil factory in England. Nifty. Almost done; will post when finished. Gotta finish up Michael, too, and post him as well as the one of Alex I did.

Ooh, and I actually wrote some of that Wincest ficbunny. :) Dunno if it's any good; it's just a short drabble. Tried to find a good balance between schmoop and angst while keeping it in character. Cuz Dean's not a schmoopy guy. ;p Trying to decide whether or not to make it porny; I suspect that that might seem gratuitous and just for the sake of having a sex scene. Which... it probably would be. Heh. So I doubt I'll bother. Can't write 'em, anyway. (you should SEE the crappy porn I wrote when I was 15! The old Fushigi Yuugi stuff... I shudder to think.)

Okay, half an hour left... off to work on my drawing of Sara. And possibly write a bit more. :)
ria_oaks: (Default)
Prison Break season 3 promo shots are up! And Alex has SCRUFF. Honest to god SCRUFF. I have died and gone to heaven, kthxbye.

*sighs and goes to happy place*

Also happy to see one particular cast member whose name wasn't in the credits of that 17 min clip... was getting a bit worried bout that char. No Sara promo yet, though - suppose they're waiting until Sarah's given birth (she hasn't yet, right? I don't think? Or maybe she has and they're waiting until she's recovered).

That was a nice reprieve from work today, heh. My supervisor and the boss are squabbling again, and dude... sigh. It can be a stressful environment, at least whenever the boss is around. She's nice, but... anyway. -_- Plus my dad was being a bloody ass on the way to work this morning, and I'm not really looking forward to going home. Though I am looking forward to finishing watching King Kong (new one, finally seeing it) because I am enjoying admiring Adrien Brody. Oh yes. Tell me why I never noticed how attractive he is? Someone? Seriously. Damn.

And this post is really quite extremely shallow. Haha. Going to go now... will finish checking f-list, then hang out here in library and work on my Alex portrait (gotta say, it's coming along very well) until lunch is over.
ria_oaks: (Default)

Aaand, the big art dump... lots of different fandoms. Take a look, see if any interest you. :)

Whew, done... this post took me 2 days. ^^; That's it for now, at least in the way of big posts. Some small stuff, mostly PB, coming soonish. Working on another Alex/Michael pic on the computer which I like okay other than Michael's face (that boy is HARD to draw, ya'll), and an Alex portrait (pencil) that I'm really quite pleased with so far.

For now, being v. lazy. Sitting here flipping between Chamber of Secrets on CBC and L&O: SVU on CTV. Was watching CoS until 10, then switched over to SVU... which I'll stick with for now thank you very much, since CoS is up to Aragog's lair and ewwwwww. Cannot handle that scene in the movie, it's hard enough in the book. o.o

ria_oaks: (Default)

God I'm lazy... virtually all I've done this evening is sit on my ass on the couch and watch the Seinfeld marathon on ch48. Dude. Least I also got some scanning done while watching, then fiddled with the pictures while sitting on the couch (which wreaks absolute havoc on my back and neck, ouch). Just a couple of Prison Break drawings, inspired by [livejournal.com profile] ficangel's "A Walk-On Part In the War".

First up, Alex and Cameron from ch11. The image of Alex watching his traumatized young son sleep and reaching out to gently touch him just broke my heart and made me immediately need to draw it. :) I like how it turned out, all things considered... it's pretty sketchy and parts of it irritate me, but I rather like it anyway.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ria_oaks/Prison%20Break/AlexandCameron-FicangelsAWalk-onPar.jpg

And second, a rushed sketch of Michael and Alex... inspired by the story in a more general way, as this doesn't really fit any of their kisses in the fic. It mostly just fulfilled my desire to draw the two of them together. :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ria_oaks/Prison%20Break/MichaelandAlex.jpg

Guess I'd better go to bed now... but yay, tomorrow's Saturday! Only one more day of work this week and it's a short day! Plus the books ale at the library is today, and that's always fun... will walk down to check it out during my lunch break. Will grab a hot dog from the Paradise Grill and check out what they've got. Here's hoping it doesn't rain... they've got big tents set up, but even so. ^^;

[livejournal.com profile] bk635 - dunno bout Bourne Ultimatum yet. Depends on a few factors when I'm coming down. Maaybe tomorrow night, or else Monday afternoon. Want to see it, anyhow.

And on a totally random note, did ya'll know that Friday Night Lights s1 is retailing for a ridiculously low price? It's only $19.99 USD! $28 on Amazon.ca, because evidentally they haven't been informed of the real exchange rate (seriously, wtf? It's practically on par right now!). Will buy it from DVDPacific.com - they're American, but their shipping is cheap. Just checked Amazon.com (literally, right after I wrote that) and it's $1 more than DVDPacific.com. Hah. Well, we'll see... either is fine. Anyway, Mom's hooked on this show - she's been getting me to download it for her all summer and now we're buying it so that I can watch it (granted I have it all on my computer now, but I'd like to watch it on TV... just can't get around to watching things on my comp these days, it's so uncomfortable in comparison to my couch). Plus it's a really good show (I've seen 6 eps, anyway...) and hell it's cheap as heck! She just watched the last episode last night and wants to buy it because she thinks it's so good, heh.

Bed. Right. Going now... 1 more day of work, sigh.

(also, GIP - random shitty Alex icon that I started monthes ago and just fiddled with right now. This is why I don't make icons.. le sigh.)

DUDE.

http://community.livejournal.com/_prisonbreak/914443.html?#cutid1

Prison Break s3 promo is up, oh yeah! So hyped about Michael and Alex being stuck in SONA together... *bounce*

Incidentally, I did indeed end up drawing that picture last night... plus a little not-so-good doodle of Michael and Alex together. I quite like the Alex-Cameron one, anyway. Will post later when back from work. Blah, gtg to work now...
ria_oaks: (Default)

Waah, I'm in a big Prison Break mood right now for the first time in ages... blame it on [livejournal.com profile] ficangel's fantastic fic "A Walk-on Part in the War" which I just finished reading and which made me get all "omg Alex squee!!" for the first time in months. It's also the first fic I've read that effectively convinced me of Michael/Alex - it's a pairing I've been very intrigued by for months, but have yet to see a fic that makes them work. This one did, thanks to her brilliant characterization and ability to slowly develop their relationship. For pairings like this, I find it a good idea to slowly build up a relationship where, you know, they're not actively trying to KILL each other before delving into more sexual/romantic areas.

Aaanyway, point is I'm now in a big PB mood, and specifically an Alex and an Alex/Michael mood. Gah. Want to draaaw... especially want to draw a particular little scene with Alex and his son - more of a snapshot than anything, but the image of Alex sitting beside the sofa while his son sleeps, and reaching out to gently touch him, after everything they'd just been though, just jumped out at me. Loved it, want to draw it... need pictures of Cameron. Memory of last season is fading, and can't recall if we ever saw him onscreen or just heard about him? Pretty damned sure we saw him, but no idea what episode. Gr. Can I just draw, like, a generic 6 year old kid? XD

Off to find screencaps, then try my hand at the scene. And if that fails, then I'll just draw some Michael/Alex schmoop. Yay.

Also, Supernatural in 15 minutes. 2.18 "Hollywood Babylon". Yays! Funny episode. Completely fluff and filler, but fun.  Especially since the day I first saw it I had already been thinking about finding work as a PA on a film/tv set. Heh. Not so sure, after that ep... "Aren't they like slaves?" "Pretty much, yeah". Paraphrased, but.. you get the idea. ;)

1 month and 1 day until PB s3 starts... wooooot. Michael and Alex breaking out of SONA together, ftw! It's gonna be awesome. I hope. *crosses fingers that they'll have to overcome their differences and work together to escape*

New icon. Chris Keller, of course. Made this one myself. :) It's simple, but I rather like it. I believe I even took the screencap, so this is mine from scatch. :)

I'm listening to my Kellerman fanmix and feeling sad about the Prison Break s2 finale. Maybe the GA spinoff will fail and Paul Adelstein will remain on PB... then could easily write what happened so, say, he ends up in SONA trying to escape with Michael and Alex. ^__^ That needs to happen.

I can dream, anyway. *sigh*

Ironically I feel like I should be using my previous default icon for this post considering the above thoughts on Kellerman. Lol. Oh well. New Chris icon is nice; I'm trying to change icons semi-reguarly because I have SO MANY. I need some Doctor Who ones... (next ep is downloading!)

Supposed to be doing work for Mom... should probably go back to work. XD Going down to the cove later and taking in resumes to the Ruddy Potato (healthy food store; Ryan works there along with several other people about my age which is nice) and the Galley Restaurant (they're hiring servers right now... never done waitressing work, but I could learn I guess. Mom's pushing it. -_- They make tips, at least).

Shiny new icon. Seems fitting after last night's ep... Credit to [livejournal.com profile] merry_holdwine.

I wish I could learn to make graphics better... I was just fiddling with a picture of Mahone trying to make it into an icon, but don't know how to make it nice. This is what I ended up with:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Credit for the cap goes to [livejournal.com profile] elizabethb.

I dunno, it's just boring and plain... I need to go do some icon tutorials or something.

Meh, I'm bored and lazy... sitting in living room watching SVU and fooling around on computer. I should prepare for my presentation tomorrow... plus House in a little over an hour. :) And new ep of SVU later.

2 weeks today until I come home. :) Yay!
ria_oaks: (Default)
I can't take the stress, this show is going to give me a heart attack. And we're only at the opening credits. Actually, I started stressing and freaking out during the 'previously on' section. XD XD I swear, this has become the only show that makes me so excited and flaily... so so excited about tonight's ep, but sad that we're going to have to wait 4-5 monthes for the next episode...

*flail*

Prison Break 2.21 )
Season finale next week... let's hope no one cool dies. -_- Then, summer hiatus. I hate this part. :(

Bit more about DW 2.13 )

This lecture is utterly pointless... I haven't taken one note yet, because he's spent the entire lecture going on and on about American Idol and resistant reading. Gaaaah. I get it, already!

Black Donnellys is taped, as usual. Will watch later today. Definitely enjoying this show, though don't know how long it'll last. It should really be on HBO or something...

3 papers down, 1 left. Woo hoo! Last one's due next Monday. Also have one presentation left, next Wednesday. Should catch up with reading now; I've been getting a bit behind because I've been working on essays. Almost finished now... three weeks today until I come home. I'm excited, though I will miss some things. I've enjoyed being on RAC - wish I'd gotten on it earlier in the year.
ria_oaks: (Default)
I'm all flaily from tonight's Prison Break... this has become one of the only, if not the only, shows on TV which can still make me want to curl up into a ball and whimper. More tomorrow, will probably write a review during class tomorrow morning as usual. XD Heroes was also good, and haven't watched The Black Donnellys yet because I had a RAC meeting. Got it taped, though...

Bed now, stupid 8am class tomorrow morning.

Oh yeah, and Orlando was fun. And warm. 28 degrees for some of the days. :) More later.
ria_oaks: (Default)
Great stuff last night. Both Prison Break and Heroes were fantastic; that was easily one of the best Heroes episodes that I've seen so far. Taped The Black Donnellys and watched it earlier today; really enjoyed it. I've been hearing about it on my f-list for ages, so decided to give it a shot. Plus, gotta support my Oz alumni (Kirk Acevedo). :)

Prison Break )

Heroes )

Oh yeah, and I watched the season 2 premiere of Supernatural yesterday. spoilers for SPN 2.01 )

And now, Lee on L&O: CI. :) I don't watch CI normally, but it's Lee so I'm making an exception. :)

Watching the Oscars and am bored... don't know many of the movies this year, so really it's just in the background while I fool around on the computer. It's dull yet oddly I can't stop watching...

Got back to school last night, and have done very little since... had a great week with my family in Halifax. Didn't do too much, though we did visit a farm which was cool. Other than that, just hung out and drew and talked. Was nice to be around people. ^^ Didn't do any work, of course... managed to read the play that we're starting this week in English, but that's about it.

HAHAHA, Snakes on a Plane reference at the Oscars. Most exciting thing to happen so far. XD That was awesome.

Now, back to boring awards for movies I haven't seen. XD I'm looking forward to the In Memorium part, actually, because I'm hoping that Andreas Katsulas will get a mention. Though he wasn't in the one at the Globes, which was disappointing.

Lesse, some random thoughts accumulated over the week (because I didn't like typing on my cousin's computer ^^)

- PB was awesome, it's increasingly becoming one of the only shows that I genuinely really look forward to every week. Getting frustrated with everything else, but PB is consistently exciting and entertaining.

- Heroes )

- didn't expect to get to watch SVU, because we were at my cousin's friend's farm that night, but after we'd finished watching our movie and the end of American Idol we were channel flipping (at 11pm, which is evidentally when SVU's on in the Maritimes) and lo and behold there was Meloni. Woo hoo. I want caps from that ep; there were a few awesome shots of him I noticed... haha, yeah, that's pretty much all I remember. Kinda 'wtf' about the reveal at the end, but don't care much.

-Lost )

- GA went exactly how I expected, but was generally enjoyable. Sandra Oh was fantastic, as usual. Nice to see JDM again (and kinda strange for me now that I've been watching SPN so am more used to him as John Winchester than as Denny these days... at the time I started watching SPN I didn't even realize that it was the same guy ^^). The end of the ep was good.

- just watched VM today, since the family doesn't get the CW.. was spoiled about it the other day, so already knew the main thing that happened, butVM spoilers )

- rewatching Oz season 1 )

- gotten some more pics done for [livejournal.com profile] fanart50, now up to 10/50 done. Yay! And several non Toby or Chris, which is great - got one Ryan, one Said, and one Adebisi. Plus, one of young!private school!Toby, which is cute. :) Will post soon.

- finished season 1 of Supernatural earlier today! Really enjoyed it, and have 2.01 downloaded so will watch tomorrow. Though I already know one of the main spoilers for it... :( Last 2 eps were really good. I love the interplay between Sam and Dean, the snark and the angst... don't really have any deep thoughts on it, but am enjoying it. And read a ridiculously hot Dean/Sawyer crossover fic the other day, heh. My feelings about Wincest are mixed, so going to hunt for more good crossover fic...

And.. that's it, I think. Oscars are still boring. Meh. But oddly entertaining, anyway... can't be too much left, maybe an hour? Not sure.

Orlando in a few days! Yay.
ria_oaks: (Default)
Think I'm going to be heading to Halifax for Reading Week, now... NYC's still a distant possibility, but even if it works out I don't think I'll go. Too expensive, too big a deal, and I'm going to Orlando the next week anyway so I don't really need 2 big trips. Looking forward to Halifax now; I called my uncle and he's fine with me coming. It'll be fun to hang out with the family and do very little beyond spending time with them, watching Supernatural, and possibly playing FFXII if they don't mind me bringing my PS2. XD Hey, I won't have much schoolwork to do, so I might as well make use of the time to play more. ;p

Also, PB tonight=love. And the end of Heroes=omgwtf?

Also, I finished 2 more [livejournal.com profile] fanart50 drawings and am in the planning stages of another. Woo hoo!

Drawings

Jan. 31st, 2007 12:27 am
ria_oaks: (Default)
Okay, drawing time! First off, Christmas card pictures. At last. They've been drawn for ages, but I only fully finished (ie inked and coloured) two of them hence the lack of cards being sent. Plus I'm lazy, hence the lack of posting them. So, without further ado...

1. PB - Michael and Lincoln - actually 2 separate pictures, but I put them together and tossed in the speech bubbles that I originally planned to use. These 2 are the only ones I actually completely finished...

Michael and Lincoln )

2. PB - T-Bag - not actually Christmas-y, just a regular picture. Well, kinda regular. XD

T-Bag )

3. VM - Veronica - also not Christmas-y. Originally planned to draw Logan, too, and put them together ala Michael and Lincoln, but the Logan drawing turned out crap and I never tried a second time. Oh well...

Veronica )

4. VM - Dick - haha, I like this one. XD

Dick )

And next up, a few more [livejournal.com profile] fanart50 pictures...

1. Prompt #24 "Not again" - Toby in season 6 ep5. Poor Toby. ;_;

Toby )

2. Prompt #25 "Not the end" - final scene in 4.12 "Cuts Like a Knife". Best scene ever... also, spoilery. I don't like how Toby came out in this...

Cuts Like a Knife )

3. Prompt #27 "Just a scratch" - Chris and Toby in 4.04 "Works of Mercy". Love this scene, too... this one's hand-drawn; the others are done on computer.

Chris & Toby )

Feedback always appreciated. :)

Prison Break 2X14 "John Doe" Spoilers )

Nothing much to say about Heroes, either. It was good. Hiro was wonderful and adorable as always. I barely recognized Chris Eccleston when he appeared, but when I realized it was him under all the scruff I squeed. :) Was excited to see him in the guest credits at the start, and hopefully he'll be around for awhile. I miss seeing him on Doctor Who, though I'm enjoying David Tennant (9 episodes into s2! Only a few left, dammit.)

I signed up for fitness classes today. Go me! Now I just have to actually go.

Also, I did my first picture for [livejournal.com profile] fanart50 today, even though I haven't actually signed up for it yet. For the prompt "What have I done?", it's Keller looking remorseful in the s2 finale post-Operation Toby. It's the first full portrait I've tried with my tablet, and I'm fairly pleased with it. It's pretty sketchy, but I like it... Might touch it up a bit more, but I'm basically okay with it as is. Check it out under the cut and let me know what you think. :)

Okay, off to bed. 8:00 class tomorrow...
